Pastor’s Note…….
Plans are underway to place four 60 inch televisions in the church area and three 42 inch televisions in the Narthex to the church. I will try my best to describe the locations of the televisions without confusing the matter. Two 60 inch televisions will be on arms allowing them to be pushed flat against walls when not in use. The walls, where the server’s table is against the sanctuary and the opposite wall across the sanctuary is where those two units will be located. A 60 inch television will be mounted on the wall above the choir area. A 60 inch television will be mounted on the wall where the processional cross is placed. The Narthex units will be located similar to where they were for Christmas.
This is part of the audio/video update for the church outlined in the Legacy for our Mission Capital Campaign. Originally, the plan was for screens and projectors plus remote shades on the windows in the church. The televisions in the church will be used for showing the new Mass parts; our aids are wearing out fast. Also they will be used for music and showing stewardship CD’s. The Narthex units will show parish information and be used when there is an overflow in the church.
Blessings in Christ, Father Bill

Small Faith Groups
During the season of Lent, we will offer small faith groups in homes of the parish and here in the Parish Life Center. Pope Benedict XVI’s apostolic exhortation, The Sacrament of Charity, inspired Living the Eucharist. Our Holy Father calls Catholics to renew our experience of the Sacrament of the Eucharist as a mystery to be believed, a mystery to be celebrated, and a mystery to be lived. This Lenten program renews and heightens parishioners involvement in the Sunday Eucharist, helps parishioners connect the celebration of the Eucharist more closely with the mission of Jesus Christ and the Church, and inspires them to live more intentionally as disciples of Jesus during the week. For more information, e-mail Kathy Wright at the Parish Office kwright@saintsimon.org or Wendy Braun at mwbraun@sbcglobal.net.
Catholic Social Teachings: A Call To Action
January is Poverty Awareness Month. Almost 1,000,000 Hoosiers, 14.4% of the total population, live below the poverty level—$22,350 annual income for a family of 4. The gospel asks “What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth?” Our third tenet of Catholic Social Teaching about rights and responsibilities calls us to protect human life and human rights and to live responsibly in community with others. Source: http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/18000.html. What Can I Do? Volunteer your time with programs that serve the poor. Continually seek answers to the prayer “What have you to do with me, Jesus of Nazareth?”
