Spiritual Life Ministry
This committee serves the Parish by planning the Liturgy especially
for holy days of obligation, Easter, Christmas etc. Your participation
is welcomed. You can access an online view of the schedules for
Eucharistic Ministers, Alter Boys / Girls, Lectors, Ushers, Greeters
from the home page of saintsimon.org. The Liturgy Committee Meets
the second Wednesday of each month 6:30 PM at the Parish. The
meeting schedule typically runs January through May and then
again from August through November one is welcome to contribute.

This committee serves the Parish by planning and carrying out
the decorating of the Church during the year especially for special
occasions as Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving etc. If you are
participating you will be called or emailed in advance of the
decorating activities for planning as needed. Volunteers, participation
and ideas are always welcome. You can sign up to contribute to
this Committee on your stewardship card. As well you can contact

The Music Ministries of St. Simon are under the direction of
Darrell Day. The different opportunities for your participation
are: Pre-K/Kindergarten Music Experience, Children’s Choir
Grades 1-4, Middle School Ensemble, Ladies Choir Chimes (with
the hope of growing a handbell program), Brass Ensemble, 4 different
adult ensembles that lead music at the Masses, and the Youth
Band under Lee Hopkins leadership. In addition to these existing
groups, you can be a part of special ensembles for weddings,
funerals, musicals, recitals and special concerts. Plans for
other groups include a Beginning Singers Adult Ensemble, a High
School Choir, a Woodwinds Ensemble, a Liturgical Dance Troupe,
and a select Chamber Choir of adult voices. To express interest
in or to ask questions about any of the ensembles above, you

Lenten Small-Faith Groups: Sign up today to join a Lenten faith-sharing
group. Reading materials and discussion questions help open our
hearts to God's Word and His presence in our lives as individuals
and as parish family. Sign-up sheets are available on St. Simon

The SPRED committee is planning to create religious education
class(es) for special needs students at St. Simon beginning fall
2007 on Sunday morning. If you know of any family who might be
interested, please have them call Judi at 826-6000 Ext. 113 for
registration. Also, the committee is looking for catechists to
assist with the instruction. Please contact Patty Reed (823-4126
/ phreed1@aol.com ) if you
would like to help in this ministry.
If you are interested in being a catechist please attend the
next SPRED meeting April 23 at 7:00 pm in the parish office conference
room.
You will share concerns, joys and positive experiences that have
influenced your personal growth. The book, MOMS – A PERSONAL
JOURNAL, will guide you through the nine-week session led by a
team of facilitators who have already gone through the MOMS program.
You will experience the support of other women as you discover
the depth of your growing spirituality. Fifteen other groups of
women from the St. Simon community have already made the journey
through the MOMS program. We welcome mothers of all ages to join
us!
