Reconciliation is offered every Saturday from 10:00am - 11:00am in the church. Reconciliation can also be received by scheduling an appointment with the priest by calling the Parish Office. There are also Penance Services that are celebrated during the Advent and Lenten season. The Parish Bulletin will post dates of the Penance Services when the dates are scheduled.
Children of St. Simon School and Parish are prepared for the Sacrament of Reconciliation as part of the second grade curriculum.
FIRST RECONCILIATION IS WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 9, 2016
First Reconciliation or Penance is one of the Sacraments of Healing. Any 2nd grader who has received formal catechesis and has been enrolled in Sunday Religious Education classes or Saint Simon the Apostle school will receive the sacrament of First Reconciliation. As part of the preparation for First Reconciliation, the parents must attend a 1st Reconciliation/ 1st Holy Eucharist Parent Session in the fall which includes information for your family.
The sacrament of First Reconciliaion will begin with a prayer service. There will be visiting clergy from surrounding parishes that will assist us with this healing celebration.
A one-time fee of $50.00 per child for both sacraments is due in the fall. If your child is not baptized at St. Simon the Apostle, please submit an official baptismal certificate from the church where the child was baptized. Please provide this to the Office of Faith Formation at the beginning of the year. If your child was baptized at St. Simon the Apostle, no certificate is required. Complete the Sacramental Form for our records.
Everyone is required to be a registered parishioner prior to receiving the sacraments.
